Zoom Quickstart Guide
Joining a virtual lesson is quite easy! Simply follow the steps below to find your class link and join the lesson.
Using the Zoom App
Downloading and installing the Zoom app is the best way to use Zoom.
Step 1
Sign in to your OYOclass account.
Step 2
Find the link to the Zoom session in the Announcements to the right

Step 3
Approve the request to download zoom, then run the installer.

Step 4
Approve the request to open zoom. Click "download & run Zoom" if nothing pops up.

Step 5
Enter your name and join the meeting. Your name should be in this format:
Alias (District)
You should now be in! You can use your community alias when entering the call. You may have to approve the video feed and sound if Zoom prompts you. Your instructor will help introduce you to some of the tools Zoom has.
Using Zoom in the Browser
It is much better to download Zoom and run it from your computer. That said, if you can't download Zoom, you can follow the steps below to get up and running with the browser version of Zoom.
Step 1
Sign in to your OYOclass account.
Step 2
Find the link to the Zoom session in the Announcements to the right

Step 3
To join from the browser, click "join from your browser."

Step 4
Enter your name in the second field, then click Join.
Your name should be in the format:
Alias (District)

Step 5
The audio and video will likely be blocked by default. Click "Join Audio by Computer" if prompted, or click the icons in the bottom-left corner to enable them.

Step 6
A modal box will appear asking you to change your camera and microphone settings. Switch these to "Allow"

Step 7
After approving the camera and microphone permissions, you may need to reload your page.

Zoom on an iPad
You can use Zoom on an iPad while you do your work on a computer. Please follow the steps and watch the video below to see how to get started.
